I have poured concrete bases (4 x 4 x 4 ft) adding many clean hard rocks
(fist size and larger) to the mix.  I would not use old concrete or make it
soupy.

Thanks for all the replies. I figured it was probably a bad idea but wanted
to check it out. You never know. I once saw a cartoon of Custer at Little
Big Horn refusing to speak to a Gatling Gun salesman because they were
'new'. Maybe the artist didn't know they were actually around in the Civil
War... Nevertheless that message sunk in.   I have a pour scheduled for
Monday. $233 for 1.5 yds direct into my hole, which I go now to dig. My back
