I have a friend in the greater Cleveland Ohio area whose had 120ft of Rohn 25G up for the last 35 years with KLM 4 element 40M beam at the top with a big 10 meter Yagi stacked above it. The base of the tower is literally right next to his attached garage. This doesn't mean it was engineered properly in the strict sense, but it has stood the test of time.

I think using R25 is probably fine as long as you guy it conservatively. However, getting rotators in and out of R25 can be a PITA. That in itself is a good reason to go with something bigger if you can afford it.

Hello all,
I'm planning a Rohn 25 guyed tower, at this time likely 120ft or 130ft.
At the Rohn site, it appears wind load limit for a 120ft 25G would be 17sq ft.
I will likely put up a C31XR on top and a 2nd C31XR sidemounted at around 60ft.
This is about 20sq ft wind loading.
Is anyone using this configuration with Rohn 25 ?
Alternately I could have just the C31XR on top and add a 2 el 40m shorty yagi.
This would be right around 17sqft.
I already have almost 200ft of Rohn 25, so was hoping to use that.
However, I'm thinking I may need to sell it and buy Rohn 45 or 55 to go with a
pair of C31XRs and then possibly a 40m yagi as well.

I know this can be subjective with many opinions. One local ham has had a TH7
and 3 el 40m KLM up for almost 30yrs on 100ft of Rohn 25 without trouble, yet
I'm sure that exceeds the recommended wind load.

Thanks and 73 to all, hope you found a vaccine shot if you wanted one,
NJ was not bad, got my 2nd shot in mid-Feb,
