I agree with sending my call twice if QRM or QRN is present, but the
hyphen is counter-productive and the "K" is unnecessary. Using a hyphen
cancels the benefits of USOS (Unshift-On-Space), which is the default in
nearly all TNCs and software packages for good reason. Sending "DE"
only once is just asking for a deleted Q due to mis-copy later on when
the log checkers go to work. A single bit flip in either character
would go unnoticed if it results in a legitimate (but wrong) state
abbreviation.

Using "K" is a carryover from CW when it is not always clear when
transmission has stopped; this is not a problem with a carrier mode like
RTTY. When you hear the carrier drop, it's your turn.

One SHOULD however, always put either a space or carriage return at the
end to separate the noise. It's just the "K" that is redundant.

I'd prefer W6WRT W6WRT 599 DE DE W9OL if condx are poor, or a single
W6WRT if they are good. After all, I know my own call so if I see it
print once, I can be sure you have it right. If you send it wrong but a
bit flip makes it right... well, the chances of that are minuscule.

To each his own; I'll take the Q, regardless. :-)
