I have recently acquired and Omni VI. The rig has seen little use in the last 10 years but it is working VERY well with a minor exception.  The rig is slightly off frequency  (about 150 Hz) - even af

Well after further examination this is NOT where I need to be - hi. It looks like that is the locking crystal for all the "logic" - duh! More serious examination is in order! 73, Rick VE7TK Website:

Rick - is it offset between receive and transmit? Otherwise, how did you discover that it is "off?" and what does that mean exactly? Bry AF4K _______________________________________________ TenTec ma

Thanks Markus.  I did this late last night and found C31 was really flaky.  Of course this is the only component on the logic board schematic without a component value. Anyway, I removed the 20 cent

The Omni VI has a 20 MHz reference oscillator (which is divided down to 10 MHz) to which the VFO and the band switching crystal oscillators are locked. The BFO crystal oscillator is not locked to any

Thanks Ken.  It was getting late and the flaky C31 really had me.  I finally trusted the schematic and my instincts and replaced C31 then did the alignment. All is now working as it should and pretty

Start by checking and adjusting the BFO frequencies. These must be correct first. Then on to the master oscillator. The procedure is outlined in detail in the manual. Do follow the exact sequence as
