According to "Triode" software by KD9JQ, with 4K as the output power and
with 4KV on the anode, the input impedance is almost exactly what you
recollected.
It varies from 50-54 ohms over the freq range of 1.8-14MHz, which are the
only freqs I ran.

A friend of mine is building up a 3CX3000A7 amp and asked me what the input 
impedance is.  Seems that I used 50 ohms when I built mine but I'm not sure.

The Eimac tech sheet says a 3x3 running in AB2 cathode driven will have an 
input impedance of 50 ohms.  Can anyone verify that for me?
