The best I ever did in NAQP with one radio was about 850 Q's. 85/hr from up
here for 10 hours ain't bad.
The first time I ran SO2R...the FIRST time....I made well over 1100 Q's. That
was before I had any experience or chance to get "good" at it.

SO2R can have a huge impact on scores, depending on the contest. For example,
SO2R is of limited usefullness from here in DX contests because we don't
tytpically enjoy two open bands at the same time and DX is always weak,
requiring your full attention when attempting to run. NAQP however is tailor
made for the technique.

The top 25 players (according to 3830scores.com) in the NAQP CW contestwere
running SO2R. Congrats to N9NB a SO1R op who broke the chain of SO2Rscores..
The concern I saw was that there were no SO1R stations anywherenear the top
scores in the NAQP LP category. There was a very wide scoremargin between the
two types of operation too...Is a category for number of receivers needed in
the world of contesting? How are SO1R ops doing in other contests competing
against SO2Rs?Does not having a "number of receivers" category discourage SO1Rs
fromcompeting? Are there any contests that have such a category?Thoughts?73s
