Hi.
I don't have my FT2000 working as yet so could not check this, but I
have noticed this type
of signal before. It's usually Russian in origin and they use the
amateur bands as and when
they wish to test, park and idle these type of RTTY signals. A
message to our Intruder Watch
would be the best thing to do, so I have included Chris in as CC
with this message. He has
some very good connections and can usually wave his "magic wand" at
these intruders.
Hope you don't mind me copying you in with this one Chris.

Tom, Kai,
I have been checking this over a few hours. There is some rapid QSB but
the signal is peaking +15 now. The bearing could be a bit further North
but definitely between 80 and 90 degrees from here. Might be worth a mail
to VU2NKS who was on earlier.
Cheers,

John, Tom,
I plotted 30 deg relative from NYC, and 90 deg relative GW. The two
bearings cross near the southern tip of India, but could be a transmitter
in Afghanistan, northern Iran, Iraq, Ukaine ... the two bearings are too
close to each other to know for sure. I'll send map separately since
attachments not allowed here. We could use another bearing from Middle
East or NE Africa, or even India.

Hello
Does anyone on the list copy this digital signal on 14240 +/- ? It is
RTTY like with a 240hz shift.
The bearing is 30 degrees from NYC area.
Any info would be appreciated.
