I put a dated description label inside the rig on the chassis near where a mod
is made to identify it (if visible) and to flag its presence. Then I make
notes in the manual about when a mod was made, and, if it is a published mod,
include a copy of the documentation. If it is my own mod, I describe it in the
manual and note it on the schematic. Specific instructions for defeating the
mod, if they are easier than replacing/rewiring are also included. But, I have
to admit, I do it for my own poor memory and the next owner gets the benefit as
well.
