The 580 Delta's display counter counts the PTO and the BFO oscillators and
prescales for the band, as I recall. Other Ten-Tec rigs also count the band
crystal. This causes the frequency of the display to be off by as much as
the band crystal deviates from its design frequency.

I have two of the 580 Delta rigs and really like them a lot. You may be
interested to know that Mr. Al Kahn, former owner of Ten-Tec, had access to
any rig he wanted and chose the 580 Delta to run mobile.

that they can be off 2 kHz on the readout when switching between bands
because of the crystal sets. Any owners, past or present that would like to
share any other insights good and/or bad??? Maybe even a Delta 580 Alumnus
exists somewhere?? The Delta 580 is a very appealing rig for me and it
looks to be a keeper. Would love to hear from others about it as well.
