My research indicates that these dissimilar metal reactions can *only* take
place in the presence of air & moisture (the electrolyte).
One year old copper radial to aluminum plate connections, pre-treated with
petroleum jelly, are still less than one DC ohm, still shiny. The excess
coating has long since washed off, but it sure is hanging in well, inside
the compressed bolted connections.
