No doubt, but please remember the original question: why would 
someone choose a fixed-element design over the SteppIR?

Cost is certainly a factor. If one is happy with the tradeoffs going with the 
C3 vs. a SteppIR, then why shouldn't they allow themselves to purchase 
the less expensive antenna? For someone for whom price is an issue, 
the comparison of a four-el SteppIR to a tower full of monobanders is 
useless, since they'd never contemplate the multiple monobanders 
anyway.

In a perfect world, we'd all be able to afford IC-7800s. The world isn't 
perfect, it's a blend of tradeoffs.

And remember, NONE of what I've written was ever intended to disparage 
SteppIR or call into question anybody's satisfaction with the antenna.
