Comments:
Started on 40. My 40 meter antenna is an inverted vee at 35 ft. (The SteppIR
never works on 40 = junk) Lots of CQing without answers. At 0320 34 QSOs, then
made a band change to 80. [rate 0306 - 0318 was 126.1] 40 QSOs during the next
20 minutes. The band was noisy, so used the SAL30. I could always hear the guy
when pointed towards him, but often had to have him call again to figure out
what direction. Maybe a full wave loop would take care of this, or a real short
E-W beverage. Stayed on 80 (105 total QSOs there). Yes, the rate always gets
better when I go to 80.[0321- - 0359 was 160.2].
Next plan - start moving towards SO2R, but the energy for running cables is
lacking.
