Comments:

Started on 40. There was coverage to both coasts, although nobody was
particularly strong. Of course, the SteppIR did not work on 40. The rate was
good, but I must have been groggy because it was hard to get calls the first
try, or pick them out if there were multiple people calling. At 1315Z had 55,
so it looked hopeful. At 1330Z had 100. This is about 9 minutes ahead of where
I usually get to 100 QSOs. It seemed that there were lots of additional
participants. At 1332Z had to call CQ five times to get an answer. This is the
warning sign that something has to change. Started to have to call CQ a lot so
went to 20 at 1343Z and bumped speed to 38 WPM. The rate improved on 20. At
1353 had a high SWR indicator and lost about 3 minutes. So much for a 200 hour!
Flex is not rock solid. Quite a few stations on 20 that I had already worked
on 40, so the score did not even pass 30,000. Should have gone to 20 about 7
minutes earlier.

Had a great visit with K3WA on Monday. I am making slow progress on bringing
cables into the building, but have to watch how much I walk.
