I know how much you like your tubes.

My engineer has nearly completed one of Fritz Raab's class-E PA's with a
pair of 5 dollar (IRFP450) FET's. 

100v rail, 92% efficient, 750w out (albeit only on 160m) and runs stone
cold. This together with a class-S AM modulator, own design.

Shame this probably couldn't go into ham production. It's far to twitchy
to tune.
