Losses follow the V^2/R law or, more appropriate I^2*R law. And current is
average current, not peak current!
Since at half the voltage the current doubles, drops losses increase four
fold. It doesn't have anything to do with voltage doublers or what have you!
Operating principles don’t change when you change operating voltage.
So this is irrelevant. You double voltage, you take half the current.
