Perhaps I have mis-understood what you are saying, in which case I apologise.

Surely it is conductivity of the water that matters, not of the tubing. Most 
plastics have a hell of a lot lower conductivity than water, so I would think 
it 
is pretty irrelevant what plastic is used from a point of conductivity.
