Socialist? If I am, it's because I learned it from the American
Founding Fathers. I cite the United States Constitution, Article I,
Section 8, Clause 8, also known as the Patent and Copyright Clause.
Patents and copyrights flow from the same Constitutional
authorization. The current spate of extensions to the copyright law
was done to benefit the Walt Disney Company, not any actual authors.
Corporations must be watched and should never be granted the same
rights as people. They serve a valuable purpose but must be limited
to that purpose.
