Yes, some folks are biased but I'm not one of them.
In my tube-swapping test I mentioned earlier, one of the 8877's was an Eimac
pull and the other was a new Chinese Pride brand. The Chinese is the one I left
in the amp and it now has many hundreds of hours of full power RTTY contesting
on it and still going strong.
You have to be careful though - I ordered the Chinese 8877 from an eBay seller
in Florida and the first one he send me was obviously used, dirty, oxidized and
scratched. I sent it back and he replaced it with a new one. I'll give him the
benefit of the doubt and say it was an honest mistake.
