The dual trace function isn't required to determine if hot-switching occurs, but is required to measure system timing. Sheesh, did I write that? My mind was stuck looking at the current trigger configuration coming from the CW keyer on Channel B. Of course a single channel scope can be used to measure simple timing when using an external trigger input.
