I've been about as loyal as I can be but lets call a spade a spade
We were promised DXBase for Windows was in the works at Dayton 2 years ago.
The program is good in present form but not supported well and a pain in the
posterior to manipulate the databases. AND I STILL AWAIT AN UPDATED CTY
FILE!! Getting real tired of "Unrecognized country"! Has anyone done a
DXers/Contesters "dream" survey for an everyday logger?? Has anyone tried
the WJ20 logger?? Comments on that one would be appreciated.

Boy is this a surprise ... this looks as if the cost of 5BDXCC has just
risen to at least $63 (including plaque). I thought the ARRL was doing just
fine financially - what are we paying dues for, anyhow? Or did I miss a
detailed discussion of severe financial straits and the need to share the
burden equally, etc. Sounds like the QRM out of Washington these days.
Anyway, I think this is penny-wise and pound foolish -- when will they start
charging us for contest log-checking?

Thanks to Steven for his summary of everday logging programs. If you are
considering adding a logging program to your Christmas list, be advised that
there are several reflectors around which provide a great place to discuss
your individual program needs with current users. The newest addition to
this list is the LogWindows Reflector, which came on line last month, but
has not been widely publicized. Check it out ...

I'm sorry... I don't get what this has to do with contesting? When they
start charging for log checking... let us know. Otherwise QRX.
No wonder half of the contesting guys I know have left this reflector.
Keep it up and we'll be having discussions on gardening here by next summer.

This reflector is dieing and most of you don't even know it.
I'm as liberal as anyone on this reflector when it comes to posting
messages ABOUT CONTESTING. But messages about DX logging programs and
how much it cost for a DXCC only drive good guys away.
Keep it up... Pretty soon someone will start a closed contesting
reflector. Hopefully this message won't disqualify me from being invited
in to it.

I am planning to operate my first ever NAQP next month. Anybody looking
for a team member?
If you are willing to take a chance with a first-timer, I am game to help.
I hope to operate from WA9ZZV in W. Wisconsin (KT34-XA @ 130 ft; 40 mtr 3 el
yagi @110 ft; high dipoles on 80 and 160). Otherwise I'll be at home
(160 meter dipole with ladder line--ugh!)
