[CQ-Contest] Public Reporting of UBN data

-- Hiding something?

How am I going to "hide" anything in my UBN file? The contest
sponsor checks my log, presumably deducts the bad contacts, and
gives me a report of the reasons for the deductions. What have
I "hidden"?

-- Paranoid?

Human nature dictates that we don't like our silly mistakes hung
out in public view for all to see. The fact that we had deductions
is easy to see for anyone who cares to look (compare 3830 claims
to published results), but the nitty gritty detail ("look, Hans
logged BY4A on 40 meters at noon!") is not instructive to anyone
except the operator who can't copy "6Y4A".

The whole idea sounds like a good way to diminish participation
by those who are not as "cock sure" as you, and would cringe at
seeing their mistakes "displayed in the public square".

73, Hans, K0HB
