Hi all,

As a former EU SOABHP CW winner in this contest (at GI0KOW) I've been
watching this with great interest and have finally been forced to write
something.

Why is everybody so hung up on the 'country' thing? Surely this is a
PREFIX contest. Forget about countries, make the rules simple.

For the record, I am against zero point QSOs.

10/15/20M = 1pt for own continent, 3pts for outside own continent.
40/80/160M = 2pts for own continent, 6pts for outside own continent.
Total of points X number of prefixes worked = final score.
This is just like the present scoring system for non-USA stations.
BTW, own continent includes own country.

This makes it that everybody is operating under the same set of rules.
To me, that makes it a much leveller playing field. And it stops some
people whinging about EU-EU contacts on the low bands getting more
points than some other areas of the world.

Now, who's going to be first to pick holes in a set of rules which are
the same for everybody?

Finally, when we are on the subject of unequal points systems, can
someone explain why do North American stations get double points for
same-continent contacts in CQWW (note.. not WPX)? Maybe it's time to
fix that 'anomaly' too.

Final final. How many years do I need to wait to get my trophy for
winning WPX CW in EU? WPX officials.... watch out at Dayton, I will be
asking awkward questions ;-)
