So in other words, if I listen on my sub-rcv and main rcv... I am 2R? It is
still only 1R (physically). I can't listen while in xmit like a 'true' 2R
but by this definition it is still a 2R. Before I had a radio with a sub, I
used to use the VFO A/B button on the 765 to jump back and forth quickly to
find someone else to work and work'em. Is this 2R? Should it be considered
2R? If I am working a dx contest on 40m and listening on my freq and in the
EU SSB band on the sub is that 2R?
I think not. The category is single-op. Who cares how many radios. If
there were big rates on one radio the issue would be mute. Granted a good
SO2R from a good geographical location will still kick my butt but SO2R
gives me a "chance" to keep up with SO1R who have better propagation to the
population centers (kind of like fishing with more than one pole). To take
this away would only enhance the inherent geographical difference... to what
gain? The idea is for a single-op to put as many q's and mult's in the log
during the contest period as possible (with only one xmit sig at a time).
It is really simple, why are people trying to complicate this with more
categories?
