Folks,
I need to clear something up. I was not calling CQ in the DX window. I
do feel very much as the ARRL contesting FAQ describes. However I do not
call CQ in the window for a very practical reason. The reason is that it
is so widely perceived as the wrong thing to do that it creates the type
of hate and discontent that is at least a semi-annual discussion point
on CQ-Contest. I would prefer to have folks want to come back and give
me a QSO the next time they hear me on in a contest.
Outside of the window I will operate politely, but sometime rather
firmly when it comes to keeping a frequency that I have been using. That
is how it needs to be. However I prefer not to use the DX window.
My log which contains the frequencies of all my contacts this weekend is
available.

Band plans are just that - plans. They are designed for normal
circumstances when band loading is much lighter than during a contest.
During major contests, the bands will be very crowded, resulting in
conditions that the band plan is not intended to address. Avoid willful
interference and be as courteous as possible to non-contest QSOs within
the limits of the contest rules and licensing regulations.
Calling frequencies are also intended to allow stations to find their
peers under customary circumstances. During a contest, be aware of where
the calling frequencies are, but if no contacts are going on there, you
have every right to try and make contest QSOs.
