I don't know that we do have different goals.
Trying to compare a tennis match to a radio competition is apples to
oranges. A tennis match is between two people. The radio contest is
thousands of people competing all at the same on the same court.
We are not hearing of huge pileups of non consters calling stations making
it nearly impossible to compete. If I was in a lull then I would probably
work the guy. If it started getting out of hand then a quick explanation
would probably take care of the issue.
There is no clear answer. Mine will tend to be more cordial than many I
have seen posted here.
I guess I will just continue to take the high road and treat people how I
would like to treated.

When the goal is poorly defined, sometimes the solution is hard to nail
down. I disagree with you, Mike, and think Albert has a point. But I think
you and I probably have different goals when we get on the air for a
contest.
If there was one clear goal then there might be a more obvious answer :)
