The M/2 category actually requires less strategic decisions, you pick
the two best bands during daytime (currently 15m and 20m) and run,
then do the same at night on 40m and 80m.

Add a few band changes to 10m and 160m respectively when the rates are
getting too low and you are done, no more thinking needed.

The M/S category requires more strategic decisions because you have
only one running station and often there are two bands wide open.

If you like the need to make strategic decisions to improve the appeal
of a contest then to push many of the biggest M/S stations to the M/2
category is the wrong way.
