I think there's a big difference between changing your power level during a
contest... or changing from a MS to SO because the other op couldn't make it,
or SO to MS or even MM because another op showed up... and similar shifts in
strategy and or category...

...and after the fact, post contest changing your entry class at the time of
your log submission to give yourself a better chance to "win." Especially when
you've seen what the competition in your class has already submitted on 3830 or
a similar venue.

One is adjusting for circumstances. The other calls your ethics into question.
 IMHO.

But suppose that I enter as Low Power. During the contest, I decide to operate
High Power.

I'd have to change it, or just forget about it and not enter, and maybe not
enter many others.

you are going for a top place in SOAB unassisted? If yes, I don´t think you
will allow a friend call.

But if anyway he call you, just tell him you are unassisted and don´t want
to know where to find a new multiplier

But suppose I decide to enter single op unassisted. During the contest, a
local friend tells me where to find a new multiplier. Don't I then have to
change to assisted? Or just not send in a log then, because it didn't fit
with the category I chose earlier.

I think will be very good if you declare the category you will choose for a
contest, BEFORE the contest start.
