I contest for fun. If I can win even better but I do it with integrity
and it is not win at all costs. When the fun stops the radio on off
button is depressed and it is on to another hobby.

The cheating has been going on for a very long time. The flow of
information IE, the internet did not exist. Big amps, phone call
scheduling, not single op and claiming so, changing your category the
contest and looking at 3830, after contest log massaging.... and on and
on and on and on and on. Just like in sports the cheaters are usually
one step ahead of the rule changes or testing.

Technology is responsible for some of this. Just look at Skimmer CW and
now Skimmer RTTY products that are available. Both incredible advances
yet have caused quite a stir at least the cw skimmer has in contesting.

I don't know what drives people to cheat or cut corners. Maybe it is
because taking the high road requires more dedication, work and
diligence to stay on the high road.
