SCP and Call History files are used **during the contest** - you find them
in every contest log program.
To get a picture of your efforts during the contest, simply minimize the log
deadline. In this way you will minimize the log processing after the contest
using analyzers and databases.
Make the deadline one hour or maybe 3 hours. Nobody need a month to send an
e-mail.

Well, there are those pesky things called "rules", which generally state
that the contacts you make and log should be the result of your own efforts
**during the contest** ... that last part being applicable for both
assisted and unassisted categories. That's where I see the inherent
conflict when using databases like SCP and Call History files, at least if
you're going to submit a log.
