Really ? Starlink is just a wireless mic / keyer, ALL RF is on the Island.
It's no different than if the operators were on the island and used
Bluetooth mics.
RF to RF.. NO Contacts over Internet, only control. The same as every
remote station, of which there are hundreds.
This is not new, many dxpeditions have been down with this tech, it has
opened doors to activate places that otherwise never would be again.

Here, WV4P demonstrates that the art of self-delusion knows few bounds.

Ham-radio QSOs are examples of people (the operators) exchanging information.  No exchange of information, no QSO - it really is that basic.

With remote operation, communications (between operators) are over, and are dependent on, the internet/Starlink.

How can we tell?  Simple - disconnect the internet/Starlink and see how many contacts (exchanges of information) you have then. "Only control"?  Nonsense.

Isn't it a pity that DXCC and contest sponsors are wilfully blind to this fact?

Let the SPHC enthusiasts compete among themselves for contesting and DXCC awards.  Does this imply separate categories? Absolutely.
