Guantanamo calls are all 2 by 2 (KG4xx) only and are issued by the
Commanding Officer, Naval Base, Gitmo, not the FCC. Two by 1's and 2 by 3's
(KG4x - KG4xxx) are continental US only, and ARE issued by the FCC. There
may have been an exception or two to the 2 by 1 callsigns for Gitmo extra
class operators several years ago, but none are active now. KC4 is the old
prefix for Navassa and Antarctica. Certain KC4Uxx callsigns are still
active Antarctica bases (notably KC4USA, USN, and USV).
