I recently bought a Yaesu FT-2900 that had a showroom quality 2003 Ford Taurus attached to it... While monitoring telemetry and radar on 303.875 MHz in AM with a 2m/440 MHz vertical NMO mounted on the trunk lid, I noticed it worked quite well for identifying power poles with problems, MUCH better than my old IC-706MKII on HF with up to 131dB attenuation in-line using a 24" whip!
