My wife's and my position on "Hallmark Holidays" has always been to enjoy them
but to not let them ruin or control our lives - moving the day is not a big
deal - we even do this with birthdays. I always send her flowers one or two
days early - she gets to enjoy them thru the holiday and the florist does a
better job before the rush.
My suggestion is to be pro-active about it - make dinner reservations on
thursday "to avoid the crowds" on sunday - give her her gift then and spring
for an extra nice bottle of wine - and on sunday after the contest shut down
the station immediately and plan on having some bread and cheese etc. with her
for supper.
With a tiny bit of imagination (*), this can be handled - 73 and GL! - jeff wk6i
(*) yeah, OK - and luck too!
