I used this article to put a Dovetron MPC-1000 ahead of my PK-232. Used the
Dovetron for receive and the PK-232 for sending FSK. Worked very well and easy
to setup. Take a look.

If you have a TNC that your computer can interface to, the easiest way
is to use the ST-8000 as a remodulator (regenerator) ahead of that TNC.
You still transmit through the TNC, but the rig's receiver output is
connected to the ST-8000 and the TNC gets a clean regenerated signal
from the ST-8000.
Same trick works with the Timewave DSP-599zx, by the way.
