Oops, I meant "maximum a posteriori (MAP)."

MAP for RTTY has been investigated by a few people.

Alex VE3NEA had told me some time back of his use of MAP to improve the 
printing of RTTY contest exchanges.  His CW Skimmer program probably 
incorporates many of those ideas and more.

More recently, Rob KL7NA had kindly sent me a paper that he and one of his 
students wrote on the use of some MAP schemes for RTTY decoding.  In an email, 
Rob had mentioned to me that they found MAP to be of lesser impact than using 
linear a-priori methods such as matched filtering.
