Another tip I would suggest is when you set up your function keys to put
in at least 2 or 3 spaces before the receive command.
I would also recommend putting 2 spaces after the transmit command
also. Also remember to put a space between {CALL} {CALL} or it will
print at the other end as KT0DXKT0DX (Yes I have seen this more then a
few times).
The spaces will prevent trash from becoming part of the start or end of
your transmission.
Example for N1MM function key setup:
{TX} CQ CQ RU {CALL} {CALL} CQ {RX}
Also please do not spell out your whole state!
