Check out what a bit-banged FSK ("EXTFSK") from a slow Windows machine sounds
like. You might be surprised :-).

Yeah, those are keying sidebands from the unwaveshaped RTTY signals. Same
mathematics as CW keyclicks.
Not all AFSK modems apply waveshaping to get rid of them either, so it is not
just coming from FSK transmitters.
