I hear this at club events all the time "I don't have good enough
antennas to work {contests|DX} and I only have 100 W ... waaaah." I
make sure to tell everyone that listens that I've never owned an amp
(even in CB days! :-D) and I have crappy antennas (40/80 trap dipole
that I tune up on 6, 15, and 20, a 12/17/30 trap dipole, and a 10 m
dipole, all below 15 m AGL) ... but I am close to confirming 200 Mixed
DXCC, have VUCC on 6, WAS, WAC ... and I have several section
certificates from SS and RU and even a Division plaque for SS from a
couple years ago.
So yeah, if you're not having fun **you're doing it wrong**!! :-)
