Hi Chen,
Yes, I do have a SignaLink. My setup may not be optimal here...
The FT-950's data out (receive audio) and FSK in are on the same PS/2 style
connector. The SignaLink, to my knowledge, doesn't pass-though/support FSK
keying from the computer. So in order to key FSK, I use a W3YY interface
box. (It was also the first thing I ever built from a kit...it makes me
smile every time I transmit!)
I have a PS/2 switch box that switches between the SignaLink and the W3YY
box, essentially allowing me to have the SignaLink (used for all other
digital modes) or FSK for RTTY. The W3YY board gives me my transmit and
the REC out from the FT-950 gives me my receive audio. I hope I explained
that clearly.
If I were better skilled at dealing with the itty-bitty wires in PS/2-style
cables, I could devise a way to have the SignaLink connected as well as the
wire that would take the FSK signal from the W3YY board as well, removing
the need for a switchbox. Then I could have the best of both words...the
Signalink + FSK.
There's a mod or two on the web to modify the SignaLink to pass an FSK
signal, but my soldering skills aren't there yet.
Thanks for your help Chen. Seems half the fun of radio is working out the
engineering challenges.
