I may well have other issues, but changing the mouse fixed the
problem. It could be the optical mice I have been using (and I have a
drawer full of them) may all just be inferior.
The IBM roller ball PS/2 mouse I ended up with has resolution down to
one pixel on a 1920x1080 screen and no latency that I can see. I would
think that is as good as it can get, but as I said, I'm no expert on
these things.
