Roy,
Your statement here is generally true but there is one rig the TenTec Argonaut
509 that used audio for the agc. Then they added an out board filter that plugs
into the rig and inserts itself in the agc line. I have one of these and built
my own filter . I am always amazed at how well this works. I always figured that
the agc should be in the IF but for the 509 at least it works very well.
