Jack (and the rest) --
I had the same experience with my Jupiter at our beach house on
NA-083 and I returned it to TT last week. It worked fine at my
home QTH, where I have much more control over the environment,
but at the beach house I have a G5RV up in the trees and it's
catch as catch can. I've successfully used a Delta II, Scout,
and FT-100 there with no hint of problems from local RF. Next
weekend I'm taking a newly acquired used Omni VI+ down there
and I expect none of this nonsense.
I got a polite lecture from Paul at Ten-Tec about controlling RF in
the shack, but I wasn't swayed. This is not what I expect from a
modern transceiver. The Jupiter is a lot of fun but unacceptably
brittle. If they don't get it together they will start losing their
dedicated following.
