I always use the received signal to peak up the controls of the antenna transmatch before transmitting and checking the SWR thru it. Listen to the desired frequency and peak the signals and noise for maximum. You will be close to one to one when you check SWR in transmit. The other way to preadjust it, is to get the Antenna transmatch noise bridge tuner kit from Ten Tec T Kits and build it. It sets up a tone to tell you when you have the transmatch adjusted to 50 ohms before you transmit. 73, Stuart K5KVH |
