And, please, PLEASE, P-U-L-E-A-S-E, listen before tuning up on a frequency.
After you are assured the frequency is not in use, tune up quickly.
If you do happen to tune up on top of an ongoing QSO, please send your so
they will know who it was who was disrupting their QSO. :-)
The reference to 'presets' is very important and very helpful. You just go
through the bands and your favorite frequency segments and record the
settings for each--I've found doing it at some odd hour like 0300 local
minimizes any QRM to anyone. Once you have a list, it's reduces tuning to a
matter of a couple of seconds.
You didn't say what kind of antennas you are using. Are they such that you
cannot tune THEM and thereby forget the tuner?
