I go by Buck on the air -- old habit -- easier to send CW and more easily
recognized.
Don't you change volume when you put on the phones? Or need to dig a weak
signal out? Or maybe your hearing is better than mine. I just don't remember
a
radio where the sidetone volume was tied to the main: Icom 746 & 756Pro,
Yaesu 920, 100D & Field, K1, K2, Scout or Heath SB102.
I will reread the section of the manual on weak signal Dxing and try
programing the AGC so I can find a Main AF setting and leave it alone. Just a
different approach I am not used to. It doesn't seem right. Why have a Main AF
knob
at all it this is a "set and forget" function that could be buried in a menu?
