Two options, in case the Orion's audio doesn't sound good to you:

1.  Use the RX EQ and run it up (positive numbers) until the high end is
reduced to what you like).

2.  Use the BW/PBT to tailor the response.  

I used to have an IC=765 which has horrible IF chain sizzle in it.  The
TT receivers are a dream compared to that.  I first discovered it on my
Omni VI+, and the Orion seems just as great to me.  I use headphones all
the time also. (One thing that aggravates hiss is having headphones that
are high quality stereo ones - i.e., extended range.  We don't really
need that for ham radio signals unless you're really big on "high
fidelity" 3 KHz wide, and more, signals.)
