Since you are a very astute ham Bob, I will just assume you did that while
listening to your Orion on a different receiver. The Orion's sidetone works
OK at 70 wpm, but the two Orions I have certainly will not send correctly
timed/spaced CW over about 50 wpm. No one that  I have sent CW at speeds
over 50 wpm can copy it because the timing is so messed up. And it is not my
PC or DGM keyboard since I have  asked two fellow hams to try  their Orions
at 50 and 60 wpm, with the same results.

I agree, I don't know anyone, except a few German hams, who send at 70 wpm
with a keyer.
