Eric and reflector,
I have the unpleasant task of reporting that I have validated
Eric's bug report - my first SSB contest with my Orion (Feb '04
manufacture). I ran the DVK for the first hour of the contest until it
started behaving as Eric's - pulsing noise when going into transmit and
no way to stop it but to power off. Once the power has been recycled,
the RF Speech Processor is very unstable. DVK cannot be recorded -
compression appears to be at 100%+++. The SP can be cured by turning SP
off, then back on. But each time after DVK has been used, when the rig
is in this condition, the SP returns to the full overmodulation symptom.
Power on reset did not cure it the first time, but later on, after
another power cycle it was OK again. I have not been using the sweep.
SP is set at 2. The problem is not stable enough to tell if a Master
Reset would help it, but at least I can verify the behavior, which might
implicate software again.
