George, This is a great lesson and thanks.

I've found on some bands more than others the proximity of the antenna to 
the shack was a factor relative to this kind of problem, i.e if the beam is 
over the roof and not away from the house.  This is common sense I guess, 
but it complicates the situation.  And when someone says there is only one 
or two ways to solve the bonding challenge (grounding) I don't believe it. 
There are many ways, length of braid, etc etc.

But in the end, I believe if we keep it simple.. no extra coax rolled up 
behind the table/desk, as few connectors and 'things' in the line as 
possible, VERY GOOD coax with first class connectors/installation, and 
everything tight .. this will help any 'shack'.  Often times this isn't the 
case nor is regular maintenance a way of life.
