OK, now it comes out. I was wondering if that was the operator problem.
Fundamentally a 100 watt CW or SSB rig can only run 100 watts PEAK and
for AM the carrier power is 1/4 the peak so the AM carrier HAS to be set
for 25 watts, else there will be peak clipping distortion (and SPLATTER
all over the band). The Tentecs mostly don't have AM so don't do that
"carrier" reduction. The rice boxes that do AM MUST cut the unmodulated
carrier to 1/4 the available peak power. There is NO WAY around that.
